Talc make excellent reinforcing fillers in polypropylene and engineering thermoplastics for automotive parts, domestic appliances, E&E components and food packaging.
They are used for anti blocking in polyethylene, restore mechanical properties to recycled plastics and are ideal nucleating agents in bio polymers and semi-crystalline polymers.
1. Biopolymer films, Rigid bio-plastics and Foamed Products
Talc make ideal reinforcing fillers and nucleating agents in rigid bioplastics, allowing them to be used in demanding applications such as durable packaging and automotive parts. Talc increase stiffness, dimensional stability, heat resistance and barrier properties. Talc allow producers to reduce food packaging weight and optimize formulation costs in rigid packaging and film production.
2. Electrical Wires and Cables :
Talc improve mechanical and thermal properties of electrical wires and cables and electronic components.
Talc make ideal reinforcing fillers in thermoplastics for computer, TV and electronic device housings where they provide improved dimensional stability and stiffness, allowing down-gauging and weight reduction. Also reduced thermal expansion and shrinkage.
3. PVC applications :
Due to its inherent lamellarity, talc improve stiffness, dimensional stability and operating temperature in special PVC applications which require superior mechanical properties and heat resistance.
4. WPCs (Wood Plastic Composites) :
Wood plastic composites are increasingly being used as a sustainable substitute for lumber in products such as outdoor decking, railings, cladding, garden furniture, window and door frames. They are generally produced with polyethylene or polypropylene resins and contain up to 70% wood.
Talc are cost-effective processing aids which improve the structural integrity of WPCs.
