New York Giants’ first-ever baby powder mascot is the latest product of a partnership between the Giants and the company that owns the Nars brand of makeup.
The Giants announced Tuesday they will use Nars Baby Powder, an all-natural, water-soluble formula of vitamins and minerals, as the new baby powder on the team’s new mascots.
The mascots, which were designed by Nars’ founder and executive creative director, Marika Hachman, will be part of the Giants’ 2018 home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The New York Times reports the mascot, named Baby, was created in partnership with the company’s brand.
Hachman says Nars is excited to partner with the Giants, which have made a name for themselves in the sports world with their “baby-centric” mascots and the Giants have a long history of supporting child-friendly products.
Harris said the Giants are excited to have a mascot that is so visually appealing and will make them more fun to play on the field.
“Baby is a symbol of love, hope and acceptance, and it is the best representation of what our team stands for,” Harris wrote on Twitter.
“We believe it is important for young children to see their favorite Giants and have a chance to have fun with them.”
The Giants also announced Tuesday that their mascot, known as the Giant, will make his debut in the team house on Sept. 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The mascot is designed by a New York City-based design firm, Pinafore, which created the Baby mascot in 2016.
